Commercial Radon Testing

IEMA-Certified NRPP-Certified BBB A-Rated Commercial Certified

Commercial radon testing measures radon across an occupied building so owners, lenders, insurers, and tenants have documentation they can rely on.

We test offices, multi-family buildings, retail spaces, warehouses, and medical facilities across the St. Louis metro, on both sides of the river.

Jake Lusby is NRPP-certified and the work is licensed in Illinois under IEMA #RNM20232346.

Property Types

Buildings We Test

Commercial buildings vary widely in footprint and air handling, so the test plan changes with the property.

  • Office buildings and professional suites
  • Multi-family and apartment properties
  • Retail spaces and restaurants
  • Warehouses and light industrial buildings
  • Medical and dental facilities

The Difference

How Commercial Testing Differs From a Home Test

A house is usually a single pressure zone. A commercial building rarely is.

Larger floor plates, multiple foundation types, and central air handling all move radon differently, so one canister in one room does not describe the building.

We place multiple devices based on floor area and occupancy, following AARST protocols written for large buildings.

Equipment

Continuous Monitors and Documentation

We use continuous radon monitors that log hourly readings rather than returning a single averaged number.

Hourly data shows how radon moves through the day, which matters when HVAC systems cycle and a building is occupied only part of the time.

Deliverable

What the Report Includes

  • Device placement map and the reasoning behind it
  • Hourly logs and the average for each device
  • Test conditions during the measurement period
  • Certification details for the transaction or compliance file

Who Orders One

Common Reasons a Building Gets Tested

  • A lender or insurer requesting documentation during a transaction
  • A property manager responding to a tenant question
  • An employer addressing duty-of-care for an occupied workspace
  • A buyer performing due diligence on a building purchase

Next Steps

If Results Come Back Above 4.0 pCi/L

We design and install commercial systems as well, so one team can carry the project from measurement through to an engineered solution.

Testing and mitigation are quoted separately, and there is no obligation to use us for both.
